Aaron Vidal

The featured student of this week is Aaron Vidal, he is 21 years old and is currently a third-year physical therapy student at Liceo De Cagayan University. Now let’s get to know him a little more!

As some of you may know, Aaron is a committee member of the social media team and is the photographer. He doesn’t quite remember how he got into photography, but he knows that he has always enjoyed taking photographs as a kid. He would even borrow his dad’s camera and take random photos. Apart from photography, he has also gotten into videography and at one point, he even made stop motion videos, and that led him to watching YouTube videos from content creators like FreddieW (now Rocket Jump) and CorridorDigital. These creators have inspired him to try animation, but at the end of it all, photography was his true calling. Apart from these hobbies, Aaron also enjoys watching movies (especially the really good ones) in his free time, and these have been the inspiration for his work!

Like all students, he has also considered other courses, such as RadTech. He saw it as a safer option and another job that was in high demand. He was interested because “it’s more procedural and it requires less contact with the patients, and less physical and emotional involvement.” But he realized that one hospital would only need a few RadTechs and that there weren’t many hospitals in the city.

After three years as a PT student, his favorite subjects have been Neuroscience and Clinical Education (#sanaol). But if he had to choose one, Neuroscience would be his top choice because it focuses on the nervous system and its connections, and how they relate to different neurological conditions. This isn’t an easy course, and his advice for the underclassmen is to, “Do your best and find meaning in everything you do. Remind yourself why you’re here. Study what you can and learn passionately. It will get harder as you proceed to the next level, so learn to take care of yourself physically and emotionally. Pray.”

As for thinking about the future, Aaron plans to spend more time with his family and to take and pass the board exam. He also plans to look for a job, but that’s it for now. He doesn't want to look too far ahead.

Seriousness aside, Aaron loves pizza and memes. A fun fact about himself is that he once made a poem about pizza during high school for an English requirement to express how much he loved eating it. Here are some of his favorite memes!
