The featured student of the week is Ms. Carnelian Christie Antolin, 20 years old and is currently a second-year physical therapy student of Liceo de Cagayan University. Let’s get to know her more!
Ms. Carnelian Christie Antolin or also known as “CC”, is a part of the Student Body Organization of the CRS Department. Physical therapy wasn’t her first choice, she wanted to be a nurse just like her mother. But CC’s admiration and interests on how a human body works and how everything connects to produce movements pushed her to take PT as her choice of career. For CC, as a Physical Therapy student, she finds it hard to take this course as it requires physical and visual learning but as a strong and determined student, she’s able to get through with flexible learning by taking online classes. Behind her strong will to continue striving, she has her friends, classmates, and parents that support her, understand her, and are considerate for her. Like most of us students, who have realized after joining our course, CC also shared her realization after joining Physical Therapy is that you can wing it and said that it’d be very helpful to have a photographic memory. She also shared her goals for this school year which is to pass her quizzes and exams and to not get nervous during OSCE. And added that her goals in the future is to get that license, DPT, and maybe become a Pediatric PT.
Carnelian then added her message to future PTs is to never give up and always remember that you got this. And when you fail at something, it is completely fine and move on, because nothing will happen if you focus on that, and it’ll just make you feel worse. Ask for help when you are having trouble understanding and collaborate with your peers. Memorize your MOINAs and plexuses. Before ending, she then added to take care of your mental health.
