The National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual celebration held in the month of August, to highlight how important vaccination is to us people of all ages. In August 2013, National Immunization Awareness Month was recognized for the very first time. The observation was to educate every family on how vaccines work and how important it is especially for young children. National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) was established by the National Public Health Information Coalition and coordinated by the Centers for Disease Control to help them spread awareness and give people the right information.
The importance of the National Immunization program is to help people be vaccinated and how dangerous a disease can be. It is one of the key interventions by treating them in protecting children from life-threatening diseases, which in fact can be preventable. National Immunization Awareness Program is one of the largest immunization programs in the world. National Immunization Awareness Program is a great way to promote how important vaccines are for all ages in all communities. It’s the best time to grow awareness about the benefits of vaccines as it coincides the flu season, different school appointments, and interacting with health care providers. The program also helps people behind an increase in vaccination rates who works tirelessly to provide and give the proper information of preventing diseases. The local department can do many things to promote the importance of immunization through social media sites to reach community members through Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, posting NIAM and its information to the health department system and also by hosting an event in a community to answer their questions about vaccinations. The more people who are vaccinated, the less likely a certain disease can spread and fewer people will be affected if people will get vaccinated. Not long ago, in the year 1950, many children died because of whooping cough, diphtheria, and tetanus.
Vaccinations are really important for all human beings for all ages. It can save lives and it can save your loved ones. So, it is very important to spread awareness with good information and to be highly ethical. We should start helping those people behind every program in giving awareness to prevent diseases by posting on our social media accounts, joining different health care events, and many more. In this way, we can make a difference and you can save the lives of many. Spreading the word and helping NIAM can lower the costs in the healthcare system and it can prevent severe morbidity. In this type of situation, people should help one another and stop spreading fake news about vaccines. It scares many people to have vaccine shots because of the misinformation other people are spreading. We should all listen to the health care professionals and those legit health care sites on the internet.
