Holy week or Lenten season is a time where Catholics gather as one. Lent is a significant religious observance in the Christian world because it commemorates the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God's son, our Savior and Redeemer. Lent is a time to deepen and strengthen our faith, which unites us and allows us to accomplish anything because of our love and dedication to Jesus. It is a time for us to repent on our sins, make a new of ourselves and recognize the sacrifice that Jesus made and make sacrifices ourselves. Lent is the best season to think about how dedicated we are on to our savior, Jesus Christ.
What does being a Christian entail? Only if we invite Christ into our life do we have the power and capability to be holy as sinners. We become responsible, law-abiding citizens and peace-loving people if we follow his teachings. We become unselfish and considerate to others who benefit from our good deeds, kindness, charity, and generosity. We become more conscious of and worried about others, particularly those who are underrepresented, underserved, marginalized, crippled, aged, helpless, and hopeless. And the Lenten season is the perfect time to practice the things stated. It is not only on Lenten season we practice the things stated, as Christ practiced these every day, so should we as his followers. Moreover, practicing lent can make our faith of Christ grow stronger and make us believe that there are brighter tomorrows that await our arrival.
