World Occupational Therapy Day

World Occupational Therapy Day is celebrated every 27th day of October. We celebrate World OT Day to know the importance of Occupational Therapy and also promote the profession in local and international settings. This year’s theme is “Occupation + Choice = Justice''.

Liceo de Cagayan University celebrated World OT day last Friday on October 28th. After a long while of being stuck at home, the Occupational Therapy Department was able to hold a face-to-face celebration for this event at last. All members of this department helped to prepare, from decorations, flow of the program, food and drinks, sounds, and other tasks to make the program possible; everyone contributed to the said event and enjoyed themselves and each other's presence.

Then, the awaited day arrived, after the introductions, each class arranged chants and other performances that expressed their pride in the course. Along with that, many activities were also prepared by the OT students of Liceo de Cagayan University, from quiz bee to several individual and group games. The students were not the only ones who had come prepared with their talents, the faculty members of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences also assembled a singing presentation. The OT students of CRS made it possible for a memorable experience while celebrating this special occasion. World OT Day gives an opportunity to heighten the visibility of the profession’s development and promote the activities of World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
