World PT Day 2022

Updated: Oct 29, 2022

On September 9, 2022, the College of Rehabilitation Sciences celebrated World Physical Therapy Day in the Liceo Paseo Campus after two years of having classes and events through an online live platform. This special international day is one to mark the solidarity and unity of the global physiotherapy community and to bring awareness to the work that physiotherapists do around the world for their community! In 2022, the focus was on the condition osteoarthritis and how physiotherapists play a key role in managing this degenerative disease. The Dean of the CRS Department, Sir Dick Herly Carskit, kicked off the event with a welcome address that highlighted the crucial roles of PTs in preventing and handling people with OA and key facts about it.

This event was filled with exciting and fun activities. Pinoy Henyo, Tic-Tac-Toe, Paint Me a Picture, Bring Me, and a sack race were the activities included in the program. These games had everyone moving in relation to preventative care for osteoarthritis; thinking about physical therapy; and working together as all year levels collaborated to win. To add on, each class in the PT department had performed their individual class presentations. Everyone showcased their dancing abilities which got the whole crowd pumped up and filled with laughter! From coordinated dance moves, to matching outfits, and to amazing acting skills, all the PT students came together to make the event more joyous and memorable. Students were also able to shine during the live open mic and show off their talent for singing and playing instruments. The CRS department is truly talented!

Lastly, the awarding for each event was announced; with the second years winning the class performance showdown and many more.

A big shout-out to our hosts, Christian de Belen and Enya Llubi, who kept the crowd engaged and excited throughout! This event also would not be possible without the hard work of the Student Body Organization, Events Committee, and Social Media Team, congratulations and thank you to these hardworking individuals!
